ora® Reserve is a peace-of-mind service to preserve samples for future ora® testing. A blood sample taken on the day of your embryo transfer is stored securely at our ora® lab.
If you experience implantation failure, we can quickly test the sample with ora® to confirm your window of implantation (WOI).
The window of implantation (WOI) is the specific time frame when the endometrium is most receptive to embryo implantation. Most women’s WOI falls within a standard range. However, about 20% of women under age 38 and 30% of women over age 38 have a displaced WOI.
ora® Reserve allows you to prepare for the possibility of multiple IVF cycles. In the event of implantation failure, ora® Reserve lets you rapidly determine (through ora® testing) if a displaced WOI might have been a contributing factor. You will also receive personalized recommendations on the timing of future embryo transfers.
By avoiding the need for mock cycles often required for endometrial receptivity testing, you reduce both time and cost. That means fewer appointments, less medications, and a smoother IVF journey.
With just a little extra blood taken on embryo transfer day, ora® Reserve helps you avoid mock cycles later—saving you time and hassle down the road.
If your transfer doesn’t work, we can quickly test your stored sample with ora® to check if timing may have been an issue—so you can adjust your next cycle and improve your chances.
A mock cycle is a simulated IVF cycle used to prepare the endometrium and collect a sample for endometrial receptivity testing. It helps identify the optimal WOI without transferring an embryo, allowing for precise timing in future IVF cycles.
Patients using ora® Reserve have their sample collected during a previous complete IVF cycle and do not require a mock cycle.
If your IVF cycle is successful, congratulations! We send our best wishes with your growing family. Since the treatment has been completed smoothly, there is no need to activate your stored sample—ora® Reserve has gracefully fulfilled its role.
If your IVF cycle is unsuccessful, your stored sample can be tested with ora® to determine if a displaced WOI may have contributed. This information will help inform the timing of your next transfer cycle.
No, ora® Reserve is an optional sample storage service to enhance the efficiency of ora® on a future cycle. It is intended primarily for first-time IVF patients. Any IVF patient may choose to go directly to ora® testing by undergoing a mock cycle.
